What a garbage headline. Toysrus was loved before he took over, he reinvented nothing.

I legit just use a US forwarding address to buy exclusives from Target directly. No TRU locally and I'm to remote to qualify for free shipping through TRU even if I spend th $99 minimum.

It almost sounds like he paid then to write the article.

1. Buy companies that have had profitability/are dying
2. Load them up with cheap pop culture crap/impulse buys (especially Pop Funko?)
3. Enjoy the profits.

I get that he has knowledge as a toy distributor, but you also need to analyze and predict trends. Pop Funko/nerd junk products can't carry the weight of a retail stores' rent forever. Trends come and go.

Again, I'm not the target buyer demographic, nor am I a collector of Pop Funkos, but I think the market is over saturated already. I don't really need a Star Trek Enterprise pizza slicer

That's what I do. Got a bunch of the G.I.Joe exclusives and a couple Legacy figs on order. Even with the exchange rate and the extra forwarding shipping, it's still cheaper than "retail" here.

Heck, if the plan would be to fill the store with 3rd and 4th party figures, including every imaginable odd and ends ones that we see on chinese sites for cheap, I'd be all for it...

Turn TrU into a "high end" dollar store, that might work...

Manga has been massive and wildly more popular than western comics for a decade+ now. It's weird that Tru is carrying it cos they never have, but it's not a new popularity. School libraries have tons.
