MP-4S (Convoy Sleep Mode) vs MP-1B (Convoy Black Version)

Since I just got my MP-4S today, took a couple (yes, just two) pics to compare with MP-1B, since I'm sure many are curious.

Both pics were taken with them next to each other, with no flash on the camera, with just ceiling-mounted fluorescent tubes as lighting. And no post-processing (Photoshop) either.





Comparatively, MP-1S isn't black like MP-1B. And the light grey parts are pretty light.

It's interesting to note that MP-1S uses a different tray-insert than the other MP-Convoys (I have MP-2, but not MP-1, though I figure he's the same as MP-1B).

My MP-4S also has a weird blotch of silver paint to the right of his ab-grille... or is that intentional? Was that where Prime was stabbed by Megatron?

Well, he was shot there, but yes. But, I don't know why they stopped there. I'm not expecting battle damage on TTT level or anything, but they could have done SOMETHING more than just that little mark.

Thanks for the photos. Have you located where the limited number is printed on your MP-04S? Theres a thread on TFW about a second version of MP-04S which is not limited to 2010 pieces, as they don't come with the numbered cards or something.

I think the silver blotch may be intentional as that is where Megatron stabbed him, as you theorized.

I have MP-1B and he's pretty cool, but I don't think I'd get MP-1S as I don't really see the point of him, unless you want to make diorama or something.

I haven't gone any further in freeing him from his "coffin" than what you see in the pics above.

It's also a good thing you guys confirmed to me that the silver blotch is intentional; I was gonna clean it off with some alcohol.
