What's your guess for Goat Prime? (YOTG)

So if the trend continues we'll see a "Year Of The Goat" Optimus Prime next year to commemorate the next zodiac sign.

With no hints as to whether or not this will happen I figured why not speculate anyway?

My fear is that is will be AOE Prime w/trailer. Why? Well if the 3 released so far are any indication, Hasbro likes to go with recent molds. (YOTD, YOTH), with YOTS being the exception.

Now I personally like the AOE leader mold, and using the trailer from MP Prime (look on TRU.can) is cool. So I wouldn't be overly moved either way.

However I would love it if they released YOTG Prime using the RID Scourge (Laser Prime?) Mold to go even older, especially since they do have the mold.

What's your thoughts?

How about a Prime FE with a trailer? And a prime Roller.

I wouldn't mind seeing any of the following...

Super Optimus Prime from Armada. (His super mode had pretty horn-like side-fins to emulate a certain animal in question.)

The Fire Convoy mold perhaps.

Or a FE Prime Prime with some kind of trailer that works in scale with the figure. Difficult to say which one would work though.

I just hope that they don't stick us with another stupid overgrown mold use as a companion piece. Starscream is the worst shelfwarmer of all.

Re: What's your guess for Goat Prime? (YOTG)

Being completely ignorant of the Chinese Zodiac is the Year Of The Goat significant?

Were the "Horse" and "Snake" years also of note? Just wondering out loud why Hasbro would begin this trend as Optimus isn't really that popular in Asia. Were these "Year Of The..." releases ever big sellers in that market?

It seems as if Hasbro knows we North American buyers like Kung Fu and repaints so they are capitalizing.

As for my guess I'd say G1 Optimus with a gold or clear yellow "Piss Magnus-esque" trailer unless another form of Optimus becomes more relevant next year.

Re: What's your guess for Goat Prime? (YOTG)

Work with me here:

-so the next year in the Chinese Zodiac calendar is Year of the GOAT

-"GOAT" is also an abbrevation/slang for Greatest Of All Time http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=goat

-back when G1 was waning in popularity in 1988, near the tail end of the line they came out with TFs that had a bevy of gimmicks. Among them was Powermaster Optimus Prime

-in the commercial for the PM OP toy, they had a song with the lyrics: Powermaster Optimus Prime, greatest leader of his time!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hB27NXZvfTQ

-close enough!

-which leads me to conclude: "Year of the Goat Optimus Prime" will be a reissue of G1 Powermaster Optimus Prime

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST!!
