Re: More Info On Transformers: The Bumblebee Movie
“There are characters in the Transformers universe that can be and should be made into their own movies,” Paramount Pictures chairman and CEO Brad Grey told The Hollywood Reporter
Yeah too bad they killed all those characters already.... Jazz, Jetfire, Shockwave, Starscream, Megatron.... I could go on...

This is true.
But general audiences don't remember their names, and the people who would notice won't be upset if Jazz and Shockwave get a movie.
So they could, but they won't.

Re: More Info On Transformers: The Bumblebee Movie
So after sacrificing actual characterization in service to a tiresome radio gimmick for 4 (soon to be 5) movies plus the entire run of Transformers Prime, NOW it's time to explore Bumblebee's character more in depth? Sorry, but that Camaro has sailed.

Re: More Info On Transformers: The Bumblebee Movie
If it is a prequel focusing on BumbleBay's story on Cybertron during the war before he got his vocal processor ripped out, with a complete Cybertronian redesign, and obviously no human, then it could work.
But hey that's not going to happen.

I just like the idea of Bumblebee driving off a pier into the ocean and hydroplaning away.

MORE depth? I can't say that I recall much characterization of any transformer. Even calling it "2-dimensional" would be a stretch.
The 'bots are barely given any focus or dialogue, how can they have much characterization?
Having said that - I'll still watch the next movie (likely even the Bumblebee one).
