Re: Arcade Machines, anyone collect?
Wow that is awesome, I love how you kept the 360 as stock looking as possible.

Thanks. That was definitely part of the goal, to keep things looking as stock as possible. If it wasn't for the DA-15 ports (which I may remove once the USB-to-discrete PCBs are in, I'm pretty sure I'd even be able to use custom X360 faceplates as well, since I made sure to leave the eject button and disc tray cover attached to the unit itself, and not the faceplate.

Yeah, CPS2 games are quite large. A lot of the inside is empty space, though. But I do like how CPS2, as with Neo Geo MVS and Atomiswave, actually have "cartridges", which makes them someone nicer to collect. I haven't gotten to the point where I'd want/like to collect "bare" arcade PCBs.
Oh, and credits go straight to my Paypal account. I think you have the address already.

So my first dive into arcade stuff with CPS2 gear and I needed a Supergun to test/play them.
Learned a lot from various forums and all; gathered up an insane amount of information.

Just pure Awesome. It would be interesting to see how it looks in a fat ps3.

Thanks man.
For a fat PS3, I could probably make it work. Off-hand, in terms of building a Supergun, the differences I see at the moment would be:
Pros:
+ PS3 already has a hard-turn-off rocker switch
+ Disc slot is a lot easier to plug/block off
+ Sony's multi-out-A/V cable is slightly more versatile than Microsoft's
Cons:
- HDD bay is smaller, widening it might make cable storage easier
- No real room for DA-15 plugs, except for the old 60GB model with the cover for the memory card slots
- Touch-sensitive Power and Eject buttons will make it harder to wire up to Test and Service functions

Re: Arcade Machines, anyone collect?
Hey I don't collect these bad boys but I sure have played a few of them from Space Invaders, Missle Command, Donkey Kong to PAC Man, Pole Position, Spy Hunter, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat. The last time I played an arcade style game is a couple of years ago at Chuck E Cheese with my son. I really liked Missle Command because of the roller ball style controller. Pong and some versions of Space Invaders had a dial controller and were like a table where you looked down into the screen I'm sure it wasn't great for posture, lol. A tougher question might be do you remember the first arcade game you played? I know it wasn't my own quarter that paid for it, lmao! Thanks Dad!

Re: Arcade Machines, anyone collect?
So I managed to score a Naomi 1 motherboard, a WWF cart, and a Capcom I/O:
Anyone have some Naomi carts to sell? Looking for:
- Capcom vs SNK 1 ------> ***EDIT*** FOUND!
- Marvel vs Capcom 2
- Puyo Puyo Fever ------> ***EDIT*** Only exists as GD-ROM, not cartridge
- Justice Gakuen / Project Justice (ie, Rival Schools 2) ------> ***EDIT*** FOUND!

Re: Arcade Machines, anyone collect?
So in the past month, I've also acquired:
- CPS3 setup with SF3 3rd Strike (need a SCSI CD-ROM drive)
- a second Naomi 1 motherboard with Capcom vs SNK 1
- Naomi NetDIMM unit for netbooting
- Aliens vs Predator for CPS2
I've also updated my Supergun to be able to take in USB controllers (ie, 360, PS3 and PC controllers), and also updated it to support the Neo-Geo MVS' 4th and 5th action buttons, as well as supporting JAMMA audio for non-Capcom boards.
Still looking for:
CPS2 (green or blue boards):
- Puzzle Fighter
- Hyper Street Fighter 2 (I'd be willing to take a conversion)
- Vampire Savior 2
- Street Fighter Alpha/Zero 3
- Vampire Hunter 2
CPS3:
- SCSI CD-ROM drive with cable
Naomi:
- Marvel vs Capcom 2
