Are we all Transformer or robot addicts?
Hey all,
I encountered the following interesting article on yahoo:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071005/...dia_reprimands
it's about a group of Japanese civil servants getting disciplined for spending government time writing articles about Gundam on Wikipedia. Apparently, these 6 Gundam collectors were addicts or something.
I'm embarrassed to conclude that some of us may be TF collecting addicts.
Any thoughts?

To Transformers add Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Minnesota Twins and Winnipeg Jets stuff and you've pretty much summed me up. Oh yeah I forgot Movies, Video games, Lego, Books, so on, so on..............

Re: Are we all Transformer or robot addicts?
"The Agriculture Ministry is not in charge of Gundam"
That was priceless...
I certainly don't think any of us really edit/add to Transformers wikipedia files that much. Although fans in Japan can and do take their hobbies (like Gundam) very seriously.
I've only read up TF wiki files on characters/toylines/shows/etc. out of curiousity, but not enough to write in any additional information, since I don't know enough.
Although I was really into gundam in high school, the interest has more or less waned now, I don't even bother building any of my model kits yet. Speaking of which, I should probably sell off my untouched Star Trek and Star Wars model kits...

I'd consider myself a hobbyist as opposed to an addict.

Re: Are we all Transformer or robot addicts?
My name is Daniel...... and I am addicted to cars....and the robots they turn into........ The level of addiction to fictional culture in Japan is much more thicker then here anyhow, social values are a whole different ball game....... if you ever get a chance, read up on the japanese city of Akihabara, there is a reason most of our TF toys and content come from Japan.....

Re: Are we all Transformer or robot addicts?
I got into a wiki editing feud with david willis one time.
Then I realised that the only winning move was not to waste my time editing a friggin wiki. So I won.

In the end, he ended up just making his OWN Wikia.
