Re: What I learnded from TV...

Most things I know, only half-know, and think I know came from good old TV.

One very important lesson came the age of 4 or so while watching The Lost City of Gold on one channel, the exact same movie was playing on an other channel, but delayed by about a half-hour or so.

I learned right then and there that what I see on television is not taking place live. Events could be recorded and played back at a later time. It blew my mind. It also shattered my world that what I was seeing on TV was not real.

Re: What I learnded from TV...

TV has taught me different things in the different stages of my life.

From my childhood:
Knowing is half the battle, but ignorance is bliss.

From my teens:
Music videos make you want to buy albums and dress funny.

From my college years:
Late night foreign movies = porn-lite, and there is no such thing as the Vulcan Death Grip.

From my 30's:
Reality TV is an oxymoron, and watching hours of the Treehouse Channel with your toddler son is a form of torture that only children are immune to.

You know, I never really got the inuendo in the title and topic of Log Driver until I was much older. Specifically when I read CobraCommander's post with the quotes around it.

That's pretty filthy, but so cleverly disguised that the National Film Board of Canada funded it. Awesome.

Another thing I learned from TV is that MJ was secretly a werewolf. Or a zombie. I was pretty confused about the whole Thriller video and it absolutely terrified me when I was a child.

And more recently, I learned from an awesome show that is not longer on the air that "Chicks Dig Giant Robots."

But more seriously, I learned about cryogenics, genetics, mutation, basic physics, most social etiquette, and that on average most people can be really idiots sometimes, but then come of with the wildest most rediculous thing that works once in a while.

edit: Oh, and a whole bunch of ideas on what time travel is and how it works.
