Re: Netflix Transformers War for Cybertron Part 1: Siege Now Online

Just watched the first 10 minutes before work this morning.

Certainly seems like the Transformers story I've been wanting for a long long time.

I've been watching it while working from home, and it's quite good! Just one episode left, unfortunately. I would have loved to have seen 13 instead of 6 episodes.

My only real complaint is that I hate Soundwave's voice.

Re: Netflix Transformers War for Cybertron Part 1: Siege Now Online

Good overall series so far.

Positives:

- Art is spot on to the toys, and the movements are smooth and fairly natural, for Robots lol.
- Story is good. Some clunky parts, of course, but overall a good story from beginning to end. Although not treading a lot of new ground.
- Characterizations are a good mix of usual G1 expectations and some new takes on old characters.

Negative:

- Too dark visually. I get it that there is a war and devastation but they should have had more well lit scenes.

- characterizations. I know I said they were a positive, but they were also a negative. Some characters just didn't seem believable, or didn't fit well (IMO).

Unsure:

- Voices. I liked some, didn't like others so kind of unsure how I feel.

Mild Spoiler ahead.....

I loved the sheer size of Astrotrain. I don't think he has ever been portrayed that large, in robot mode at least, in any media. He was easily the size of a combiner if not bigger. Just a shame he had all of 3 seconds of screen time, and no lines.

Just finished watching, needs more transforming, otherwise adequate and pleased they included a lot of the toys.

I found that pretty hilarious. They are too slavish to the designs of the actual toys, right down to the peg holes for blast effects that were scanned right into the animated models. They could have taken some liberties with the CAD data Hasbro must have given them.

Also noticed Jetfire was leader sized xl at most, not commander like the toy. Also Skytread looked to be voyager.
