I didn't like the first movie, but that didn't keep me from buying some of the toys I thought were nice. At regular price even. I try to pick up toys based on its own merits. Not how cool it was in the movie. I even have all of the animated toys, without watching a a single episode.

Yes. mostly. Alot of them just look plain ugly. The coloring is off on alot of the figures, making me think the are doing half ass paint jobs, or lower quality plastic. Engineeringwise, some of them look okay right now, but I have to get a closer look. And none of them look like transformation marvels. None of them make me say "I wonder how this transformers."

Not everyone loves them. From what I can tell from the first pics we saw of live toys from the Toy Fair. The majority hated Devastator, and it was about 50/50 with the rest of the posts. I am not the only on these boards that does not like the new toys.

Re: What ROTF figures are you planning to pick up?
I would have to say most of the new Transformer molds. None of the repaints from the first movie. Also, I may wait on the Japan versions of some of these figures as well because they often add to the figures to create a better look to them. Anyways that's just me.

I'll definitely nab all the scout figures. Other than that, I'll just have to see what speaks to me at the store.

Re: What ROTF figures are you planning to pick up?
Since I didn't pick up Leader Prime back at Movie 1, cause I hated his mold; I definately picking up Leader Prime now. Waaay more movie accurate!
Preview Soundwave
Ravage - cause I collect anything Ravage (mostly )
The Fallen
Starscream
Voyager Megs - maybe, I will decide when I have it in hand
Sideswipe
Ironhide - cause he needs his BFGs
maybe the Constructicons, and I haven't decided on any of the "kicked in the lubricator" BBs yet
As for the rest, as another poster stated; whatever tickles my fancy.

Re: What ROTF figures are you planning to pick up?
I plan on buying this line when it hits the sales bin with the exception of Soundwave, Ravage, and a couple constructicons. I will be holding off on Demolisher as I have a feeling that he will take the place of Animated Lugnut on local shelves for the next year and a bit...

Re: What ROTF figures are you planning to pick up?
Superion
Bruticus
Leader Prime, leader Jetfire, leader megatron (when they are on sale)
Voyager will only get devastator parts, maybe starscream, but not ironhide for sure. I don't see Ironhide as a must get figure since the one from the first movie looks more bad ass.
Deluxe, except Bumblebee, get most of the rest that will be in the movie.
Probably will get Bumblebee with Sam set.

i got suckered the first time around, bought every mold with two eyes, and right after i completed the line, realized the choice i made was bad, the asthetic looks good on screen, on the toys not so much, i absolutely hate the automorph features, some of the transformations are fiddly (not complicated, just dumb, i tf my mp megs at least once or twice a week), the parts fall off them more than universe galvatron's supposedly do so i promptly boxed up the figures, sold a couple and gave the rest away.
i refilled their shelves with g1, universe/classics, animated, and those lines are now pretty complete on my shelves, and i still pick them up to play with (all of them) like the saying goes, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me type deal, simply put, they are crap IMO
