A3U given the boot!

Just read on facebook from our good friends at ages 3 and up that they have been given notice to vacate the mall.
Their lease was broken and they where told that there wasnt a vacant position to move them to in the mall despite many vacant store spaces.
They are moving across the road to a new location.
This happened suddenly and without notice.
My thoughts:
Other vendors in the mall are becoming jealous of their success due to sales of unofficial products and convinced the managers to boot them out.
Or as they say: the mall wanted their space for a 'similar store', so i find it possible that hasbro or takara got ahold of the managers to pressure them out without officially getting involved.
Thoughts? Opinions? Is this an underhanded tactic by the Has/tak corp. To eliminate competition?

Re: A3U given the boot!

Sucks for them. I've obviously never shopped there, but it's shameful for the mall to not honor the duration of their agreement.

Having said that, malls are dying, and the reports of numerous vacancies at this one suggests it is part of that trend. They just aren't the great places the attract window-shopping they once were, and window-shoppers don't buy 3P figures anyway. Assuming the new location suits their needs as well if not better, and/or they will be paying the same or lower lease, then they'll be better off in the long-run for it.

Best of luck to the owners, if they happen to read this

I don't think anyone else in the mall knows or cares about what they sell. Can't wait to visit the new store, maybe this fall!

Like i said, just a theory. Definately a screwy deal to break the lease with no explanation like that. Overall its better for them to just walk away from the problem then stay and spend time and stress trying to foght them and then end up staying there with reluctant mangament giving them the stonk eye everyday till the contract is up.

Well, if we see a new toy store where A3U used to be that's selling similar products, we'll have at least some confirmation that some shady stuff happened behind the scenes.

Are you serious? Other vendors in the mall? Please check out the mall's store directory and tell me who is jealous for them?
http://lougheedtowncentre.com/directory/

For those of us who live in Greater Vancouver. Lougheed Mall is one of those old mall waiting for big real estate developers to come inject billions of dollars for redevelopment. See here: http://www.vancitybuzz.com/2016/03/l...development-2/

If there's a train line and a mall, it's big time for more overpriced tiny condo. That's Vancouver.

Also Takara has no distribution right outside of Japan. If Japanese etailers like HLJ , AA, AE and HS can sell Takara products to oversea customers, why would Takara bother with a small shop in Canada? Same case with Hasbro. Hasbro sells to big box stores like TRU and Walmart. They don't bother with the little inde shops.

They have moved a few time in the past 10 years. The important thing is they are still in business, and I look forward to see what they will put out on moving sales, and grand opening sales.

It's obviously going to be an adult toy store.

This is extremely doubtful, there isn't even any other similar toy stoys in the mall and there is no way Walmart or London drugs gives a shit about or even knows 3p transformers exists.

If this was the case then that store beside sports check that sells bootleg Lego and unlicensed Anime t-shirts should get the boot too.

I assume that even though A3U was able to pay rent they probably didn't like that a larger sized unit wasn't getting much foot traffic. Apart from boxing day I have never seen more that two people in the store at the same time.

It also could have been because they do magic the gathering locals and the mall didn't like that?
