S.H. Figuarts

Anyone know of any good vendors for S.H. Figuarts Dragon ball Z figures.

I've checked out Toy source and BBTS in America and HJL and ami ami from Japan. Amazon.ca seems to be a gamble, prices rose by 20% overnight on some figures.

Based on the exchange rates it might be cheaper to buy from Japan; including shipping than from our neighbours down south. But, the Japanese sites don't seem to have much stock or the option to hold them.

If you have any suggestions please let me know

Thanks

Re: S.H. Figuarts

Getting older, out-of-production DragonBall Z SH Figuarts will be tricky; many of them now go for insane prices on the aftermarket due to supply/demand/exclusivity/etc.

Re: S.H. Figuarts

Sometimes it is hard to find some preorder.

just realized that Bandai was making a Iron Man Mark 45 and everywhere preorders are sold out already...

I've actually gotten most of the Sailormoon ones from crunchyroll, if you're a subscriber you get a discount.

Re: S.H. Figuarts

I haven't ordered anything from HLJ yet and that's mostly because every time I compare their prices with other Japanese retailers, their prices always seem to be slightly higher than Amiami, Anime Export, Nippon-Yassan, etc.

Most of my JDM pre-orders have gone through Amiami. Yes, I know they have a bad rep that you can't cancel pre-orders and hard to exchange with if you receive a defective item, but I make sure I'm confident that I won't be cancelling my orders before I place with them and they have always arrived in great condition, and their shipping costs have been pretty reasonable. That said, to those of you who prefer HLJ, is it because they charge less for shipping that I don't know about? AE charges more for shipping and charges immediately for pre-orders too; NY also seems to charge more for shipping as well compared to Amiami, but at least you don't have to pay for their pre-orders up front either.

Re: S.H. Figuarts

For the non-dbz figures I've found that amazon.ca prices are much cheaper than bbts, hlj, type stores.

i.e. Mario at bbts $24.99USD compared to amazon.ca @24.48 CDN + free shipping.

Re: S.H. Figuarts

Amazon.com (and sometimes amazon.ca) gets the Tamashii Web Shop exclusive thru Bluefin. It's one way to get those Japan only limited edition.

Re: S.H. Figuarts

AmiAmi is my usual go to place but pre ordering anything from there is kind of a pain, you need to be there right when they go up and even then they go quick...

Other than that, I'd suggest checking out Mandarake as they tend to stock a lot of older and limited releases.
