How do I get the FULL TFCon experience?

Man, if I didn't have school, I'd totally come on the Friday, that Powered Commander looks awesome. =( There is no way to not pre-pay for the full weekend, but only pre-register for one day AND get Powered Commander?

If you show up to the con and pay, you do get your chance to buy him, just preregister secures one for you.

The key to getting the full con experience is participation.

Don't spend your whole day wandering the dealer room. I mean, you'll definitely want to get in there early and you'll definitely want time to browse, but plan your browsing for when there are no other events going on that you're interested in. Hit all the panels you can. Look at, or try, things you weren't sure if you'd be interested in--if you know you're not interested that's one thing, if you just aren't sure, give it a try, you might be surprised. For example, I'm not a customizer, but visiting dak's panel has taught me a lot about techniques and given me a larger appreciation for how people do more than just swap paint on a toy.

Talk to people. Say hi. Hang out. And have fun

(I actually didn't know about the Saturday night bar thing before and will make a point of coming out this year....)

You could come after your exam on friday, assuming the exam isnt a 7pm one. What's the exam in on monday? Can you study beforehand?

Furthermore, another way to get the full experience is to go to as many panels as possible. There's a lot of work and expert knowledge that goes into them, so the more you go, and the more you participate, the more fun you'll have.

Friday is Bankruptcy, Monday is Administrative Law.

I'm not too far either, I'm up at York University, but there doesn't seem to be any simple direct transportation that gets me to the hotel. It all involves going south and then coming back up. :-s

Not sure if I'll make the Friday, but I'm definitely coming Saturday. Probably won't be able to make Sunday though. :-(

TFCon always seems to happen around exam time. This would actually be my first convention, so I'm just happy to get any TFCon exposure at all, even if it's not the "full experience." That might have to wait until next year. Bonus is I'll have more money to spend next year since I'll be working!

It was the same way when I was at York, but I always managed to get to TFcon, I even had an exam the next day once (thanks to a needle dick who called in a bomb threat and got the exam date pumped up to a Sunday).

If you're coming by transit your best bet may be to go across steeles or finch and go south down highway 27. The Doubletree is right at Dixon and HWY 27.

Hey man, the best and fastest way to get down to the hotel would be to take the Steeles West bus (60) to Martin Grove, then take the Martin Grove bus (46) down to Dixon...it's walking distance from Martin Grove, as the bus that runs on Dixon (58 I believe) takes a while. Hope this will help you!
