From the original post, mate. Watching the shows would do nothing

Re: Nocturn's Obscure Transformers Reviews

(I just realized that snarl was listed as #6, as opposed to his proper #8... surprised no one called me on that.)

#9

Beast Machines
Basic/Scout
Battle Unicorn

Yes, you! The bane of the dyslexic transformers collector! You!

From what I hear, this little bastard was dreadfully shortpacked. A shame, really, as this is the only Unicorn TF, save for his repaint which may or may not be him.

But what a shit name.

TIME FOR HIS GIMMICK

It's a decent one.

Twist this knob upwards to go from this...

...to this.

(yet another shot including my GIANT FISTS OF HAM)

http://images.wikia.com/transformers...d/Tf_sound.ogg

MAGNIFICENT.

For a toy with such a shit name, he sure does look good.

Oh, and what's this?

A weapon?

Not just a weapon, but a freaking battleaxe with a tail. Oh, Hasbro. I am so tickled by this bit of beauty.

SPEAKING OF BEAUTY

This is, without a doubt, one of the best headsculpts I've ever seen. It's just so great.

Posing is okay, his knees are a bit limited and his arms really should be able to have the shaft of the axe cross his chest so he can pretend to two-hand it, but meh.

Oh yes. Always cool.

And the best part? SHINY CHROME THAT MAKES HIM LOOK TRES-ANIMU

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH

FIN

Oh I don't know, RiD Megatron / Galvatron's 11th GERWALK mode is actually pretty cool.

edit:

My BWN Magmatron figure now looks very awkward when combined. lol

And as for the Energon Chips and Cybertron Keys, I like the chips better. If lost, the toy doesn't lose functionality. Plus in most cases you can just leave them on the figure and forget about them. They don't hinder transformations that I've noticed, and there's no spring loaded or latch or electronic light and sound feature to waste space within the figure.

The Cybertron Keys I find are large and cumbersome and they don't integrate well with the figures at all. They don't have a "storage" location, which is a pet peeve of mine for accessories. Plus, you pretty much need the keys to activate features, even stupidly simple features.

But yes, either way they were a waste of plastic. Especially compared to the gimmick in Armada, fully transformable figures that activated features, and in most cases were integrated well with their partner.

edit 2:

The Omega Lock that came with Primus was even worse than the Cyber keys, as they made it required to transform the figure to and from robot mode. Luckily the Unicron head made up for it. lol

So the horn just sticks out of his butt? What if he wants to sit down?

IS THERE NO SITTING IN A LIFE OF BATTLE?

Actually, with a bit of clever maneuvering I believe it was actually designed to fold up in front of the Unicorn's skull, and then the skull folds up itself. I might need some pictures to explain that, but I transformed the guy recently using this method.

And of course nobody knew about him, that's why he was overstocked at BBTS for so many years. (Luckily I scored him at clearance prices. I loved that and really he makes a great addition to any BM collection.)
