That would be really cool. Then I really could get a cheap Grandus to complete my set.

As long as they reissue those guys, why not throw in Metalhawk, Black Zarak, Overlord, Star Saber & Deszaras? Maybe Dinoforce and Lio Kaiser too?

One thing at a time my friend, one thing at a time, let's just hope for Sky Garry and Grandus and Dai Atlus and then we'll go from there. Although it is kind of odd that of all the Japanese only figures re-issued so far the only one we've gotten is another version of Convoy.

What's wrong with all those brilliant G1 figures that cost 300+ to score MISB or MIB? Not good enough for this day and age? Or maybe worse, they could be missing molds.

It's likely that the molds are missing. That thought makes me want to cry!

I don't think odd that they chose to reissue Star Convoy at all. In fact it makes perfect sense, he's Convoy after all. Probably the most popular / most recognisable character.
How many times has the G1 Convoy been reissued now? Not to mention Ginrai, who practically is a Convoy.

Lmao. Doubt it. They're either not popular enough or the molds are destroyed/MIA.

They only reissued Star Convoy, because he's a Convoy. Convoy's sell in Japan, other characters do not. Takara tends to reissue Convoys since they're popular, others don't sell as well. G1 Convoy is reissued since he's the original and most recognizable when you think of TFs.

A MIB Grandus is about $500. I thought all 3 of them combine, like Dia Atlas/Sonic Bomber/Roadfire. I stopped hoping for such an illusion and forked over the money.

Sorry for being cynical, just sharing my views/experience.

I'm loving the pics of their base modes. Base modes are something I've been starving for in transformers.

$500! Yikes.

AFAIK only their alt/modes combine, not their base or robot modes.

Actually, you can join both Grandus and Star Covoy in base mode and use the motor on the "roller" to drive gimmicks on Grandus. Then, you can connect both Sky Garry and Grandus in their base mode with a "bridge" piece.

When you connect Star Convoy and Grandus using the connector, you can make the lifts work in Grandus as well

Re: Getting to know Sky Garry & Star Convoy (pic heavy)

About the visible head & arms in base mode for Star Convoy: I usually fold the head forward and plug his gun in the screw hole and fold and rotate his arms so the dual cannons face forward.
