RenderForm G1 Optimus Axe Review

I met with Venksta today and got a pair of renderform axes from him. They are very nice, and fix with Optimus very well. They have nice tight tolerances and a nice finish on them. I am very impressed with the quality from a 'fan project', even with the packaging!

I snapped some photos this afternoon.

They came in a nice little bag with a printed index card.

Here are the two different axes and the pack-in card.

Here's the show accurate axe. As you can see, it has a nice texture and no bubbling. It is quite pointy and sharp!

Here's the toy-style axe. Again, nice texture and nice lines.

The axe fits nicely into Optimuses wrist socket. Nice and snug. This is the 'toy style'

Here's the Anime style axe

Of course, Optimus looks seriously badass with two axes.

More than meets the eye part two!

Did someone say storage options?

Rollers a good little assistant!

Verdict: At $10 bucks each these are a good buy. They come professionally packed, and are great quality, there's no bubbling, and the texture is nice.

If I were to nitpick, there were some small scratches on the weapons, as you can see in the closeups. Also, on the anime axe, the peg was a tiny bit bigger than the toy axe, and so it fit a little snugger the first time I installed it. Any repeat installs worked fine. Keep in mind this was on an almost brand new encore OP.

All in all, these are some great little weapons!

Thanks for the review Richter. I actually never tried attaching the axes to Roller or the repair crane.

The extra "s" on "looks" makes you sound like Skwisgaar Skwigelf from the band "Dethklok"!!!
