Re: Hasbro Transformers Toys To Be Manufactured In India
Well I don't see why not. India has a huge demographic bump and is not currently well set up as a manufacturing hub. I expect others may well follow suit.
The downside is that $215 a month is about .70 cents an hour assuming an 8 hour day with an hour lunch. (yes I know factory hours are longer than that, that just makes it worse). It is sad that this may be too much for Hasbro and they are looking for lower cost manufacturing options.

It never said the people made 215 dollars a month, it said they made 215 dollars a month LESS than the workers in China and Vietnam

while its totally up for interpretation, i think the original quote does appear to state that the monthly salary in vietnam is indeed $215, which is less than the monthly salary of the chinese counterparts....because of the "comma"
Quote:
Eight years ago, GFT shifted much of its production from China to Vietnam, where today the company’s workers earn around $215 a month, less than Chinese counterparts’ salaries. But Vietnam is quickly becoming saturated with factories, Mr. Leung said.

Re: Hasbro Transformers Toys To Be Manufactured In India
why don't they just directly move the Africa?
Then the salary will stay low for a long time.

Re: Hasbro Transformers Toys To Be Manufactured In India
Aren't American companies supposed to make American great again?? Hasbro should terminate their contract with Chinese, Vietnamese and Indian factories and move all production back the the Land of the Free. LOL.
