bot shots
So what is the appeal of these bot shots? From an adult collector stand-point?

Re: bot shots
1) They are unique looking so they add a little punch to the collection.
2) Many are based on the G1 characters which appeals to me. Especially interested in the jetfire/skyfire one when it's released.
3) They only cost a few bucks so why not?

Wave 1 = clear Sentinel Prime. One per case. He's in solid colors in the 3 pack with Bumblebee and Prowl.
Wave 2 is clear Bumblebee, I read about Wave 3, didn't see who the chase figure is.
Bot Shots online game. Unfortunately, the enhancements won't be available till May 2012. See the FAQ about codes.

Re: bot shots
Wave 3's chase is a clear Megatron, I guess kinda based on his DOTM vehicle mode with his Prime counterpart's helmet.
I just have Barricade at the moment, but I think the appeal of these is that they're cheap, fun, and incredibly adorable. You may not necessarily want to collect them all at first, but it can't hurt to try the Bot Shots with your favorite character that's represented.

Re: bot shots
Its the Transformers answer to other collectible combat games.
Each have three symbols that you can rotate between.
The system is more or less the same as Battle Beasts, or Rock Scissor Paper.
The numbers are used as the tie breaker.
Once selected secretly, the Bot Shot is transformed to hide it, and then either rolled at the opponents Bot Shot by hand, or launched from a launcher.
When they crash, they auto-transform and reveal the symbol.
Combat is won or lost.
I have both launchers and both Megatron and Optimus Prime that came with them. They're pretty neat figures with a neat gimmick. I won't collect them all, just the ones that interest me. Doubt I'll use them for actual combat though.

I don't think any of the planes were a good idea. Too much fudging makes them look strange in vehicle mode.

Re: bot shots
Yeah, they're a little strange looking, but they're also a throwback to those wind up airplane toys, so eh.
Also, there's gonna be a Lockdown toy coming out, so that in itself is reason enough for me to at least notice the line.
