WHAT DID YOU DO TO ULTRA MAGNUS!?!?

Lets see where this goes. I like it when people make uncommon characters.

Re: Custom Classics Flywheels WIP

Finally started painting today. The dark tan colour I'm using for the tank is looking better than I was hoping. If I'm able to keep at it I should have him ready for pics by next week. No promises, though.

Re: Custom Classics Flywheels *Finished*

I finally finished Flywheels yesterday (save for the odd touch-up that I'll need to do when I notice them) I took some pics of his separate modes and with Astrotrain and Octane for scale.

I'm kinda disappointed with the pics because the flash caused the dark tan on the tank to get a little washed out. I'm also thinking that the red I used on the jet is way too bright compared to the original toy and doesn't mesh with the tan on the tank like I was hoping for. I think the more purplish colour of the original would have helped make this guy feel more "decepticony" I may have to try changing the colour someday.

I hope you guys like what you see. I have what I need to make Battletrap to go with him but I think I'm going to take a break from customizing for a little while since this guy took a lot longer to finish than I thought he would.

Great job on the paint. Have you thought of giving him some decals?

Re: Custom Classics Flywheels WIP

Decals are a little advanced too advanced for me at this point. Maybe after I have a few more customs under my belt.

well those are easy man ^^ If you got photoshop you can design them over images of your pic (long as they're at 100% scale to the RL figure), then print em on adhesive paper ^^

as for the figure itself.....DAMN just...DAMN

...that;'s all I can get out man...it's too awesome XD

Re: Custom Classics Flywheels WIP

wow you can do some nice clean paint lines!!!
i love how big they are compared to a normal classics deluxe bot!!nice job!!
the only suggestion i would have is to try to break up the solidness of the colors a bit.have you thought about giving him a paint wash or panel lining?that may help break it up a bit.what if you painted his helmet a darker grey than the tank treads ala g1?
what ever you decide,it's your bbq and it sure smells fine!!!

Thanks, Chans! I thought about doing some panel lining and/or a wash but I thought I might try and go with a cleaner look. Like something that Hasbro would do. I'm definitely going to experiment more with future projects, though.
