Transformers Prime

I wanted to sound off on Transformers Prime, maybe I'm just being an ol fogey and not having an open mind, but I can honestly say that I do not care much for Prime. I haven't seen the show, but I just think the figs are to cartoony for my liking. Maybe I'm too much of a G1 purist! LOL!

Re: Transformers Prime

Just kind of ignore the figures if you don't really like them. The show, on the other hand, has to be the best so far in my opinion. it took me a little while to get used to the animation style (although i like it ALOT more than Animated) and the storytelling is done in a great way. I've found that there aren't many cheesy moments, aside from a few with the children, but i don't think they're as much of an annoyance here as they are in, say, Armada.

Re: Transformers Prime

Comparing Movieverse, Animated, and Prime figures, which of those styles do you find most and least appealing? What is it about them that makes them stand out as being odd compared to, say, classics?

Re: Transformers Prime

I think Prime voyager Prime is one of the best I've seen in a long time. He looks awesome in and out of the box.

**my bad, I meant FE voyager Prime**

Re: Transformers Prime

FE Prime is on my top 10 fav. Prime molds. Probably would put him between 3-5ish. I just love his transformation, his look, the feel of the figure, the fun way to transform it, everything. Only downside is the rubber exhausts on his back tend to come off. It is fixable though but I prefer it had been plastic. Otherwise, hate the show all you want, the FE Voyager Prime figure stands above. My personal opinion that is.

Wink Re: Transformers Prime

Aren't you supposed to at least watch the first few episodes before sounding off?

Judging the show by the toys? What would happen if people judged the old TMNT show by the toys? Or Justice League (and Unlimited) by their unposable figures? Or Primus forbid, judging the G1 cartoon by their toys. (Classics doesn't count)

I'm a G1er, not a G1 purist.

The writing, the characters, and action sequences for Prime are on par or better than most of the TF cartoons of this millenium.

I guess if you only care about toys, then yes, stay away from the cartoon. The toys are not 100% spot-on to what you see on-screen.

There are people who cared about TF: Animated's cartoon, but stayed away from the toys.

Re: Transformers Prime

I didn't care about the transformers prime until this week when I finished watching the first season. I had not the chance to watch it while it aired and a friend, knowing that I was a transformers fan, bought me the first season on DVD. After watching it, I thought it was really great. The story, action sequence and the character development, although i wished we saw more soundwave.
And then I rushed to go buy a few toys. I'm mad that I missed out on FE Optimus prime. I got the "new" mold. I doubt I would have bought any toys if I didn't watch the show.

Re: Transformers Prime

Well I got AM15 (darkness megatron) and he is pretty cool. maybe not for everyone, but I like it.

Any chance they re-issue first edition voyager Optimus Prime?
And not to open old wounds, but did we ever get wave 2 & 3 of the deluxe line?
