Generally, I think the Japanese "G1" cartoons aren't rated very highly for their quality or dub.
I think the charm is that it's a (somewhat) continuation during the late 80's/early 90's that provided some Transformers content after the US G1 show ended.

Also, there were occaisional characters and storylines that indeed stood out.

Agreed. It's not like any of the autobot headmasters really have distinct personalities. Chromedome is a wiener. Scorponok is great. There is way too much Daniel. Has its moments. Despite what some say, u enjoyed the death fight between blaster and Soundwave. And the explanation for headmasters that doesn't involve squoshies. Otherwise eh

The packaging for the G1 reissues, especially Blaster, has been pretty flimsy, and easily damaged. So it may be difficult to get minty boxes if you want that sort of thing.

I didn't mind Daniel in US cartoon, but just 1 Headmasters ep was too much Daniel!
Traditionally, Japanese names end in vowel sounds, so I've been told. So Spike became "Spiko" in Japan.
Unfortunately when dubbing to English, the translation fools translated Spiko to "Sparkle".

The ep I saw had Spike get injured and Daniel is crying, "Sparkle! Oh Sparkle!"
It was so annoying and ridiculous.

I might not mind doubling up on Hardhead, since these new toys will have plastic colors that match Hasbro's Titans Return iterations. Would give me a color-matched alt. head to go with my Titans Return Hardhead.
