Re: Canada Post strike/lockout may be coming July 2...
I think I read that letters/shipments are already being rerouted through Purolator (which Canada Post owns a majority of) to ensure the processing doesn't get too backed up if the strike happens but it'll still definitely be slow with that increase in volume going through them.

Hopefully my lone order manages to get a move on before this really hits.

He should be paid for his time worked and not max pay for half time. That's my 2 cents.

Again, that's because Government workers (for the most part) have it easy.

These are cute to read back to back.

Re: Canada Post strike/lockout may be coming July 2...
Let's get honest here folks, if CP enforces a lockout on the employees it is not a Strike. It is the company using heavy handed tactics to get the negotiators for the union to capitulate to their demands.
A strike is instigated by the employee to force the employer's hand by threatening a loss of business.
Since there is no profit to be made with CP 'apparently' than it makes sense to believe that CP employees are in just as much of a shithole as the rest of us who need to do business elsewhere.
It's all around a terrible situation due to practices in business that have been established for quite some time. Forcing a rapid change as they are now is an ill advised attempt to slap a bandage on a festering open wound that has gone gangrenous.
Ultimately I'm afraid we're going to see some tough times unless things can be corrected. Or agreed upon at any rate.

Re: Canada Post strike/lockout may be coming July 2...
So... should I be worried about the stuff my HLJ Private Warehouse is going to be stockpiling shortly? I've got a bit under 40 more days to be able to store my oldest item before they auto-ship it out. :S
Are we forced into using Fed Ex/alt. carriers when this occurs to get stuff from overseas to our door?

Last time there was a work stoppage it was three weeks in total. One would hope another stoppage here wouldn't be any more significant than that.
But yeah, it would be something of a guessing game for sure.

When did that happen? I like AE but their lack of communication stinks. Now do I risk shipping or leave it there for a while?
