passport question yo

I applied in Person to the Passport Canada office last Friday (March 1st). She doubled checked everything I filled out on the app, all my documents then told me that it will be mailed out March 15th. The tag I got also says Mail Out Date: March 15. Now I'm not expecting anything in the mail, but a mail man dropped off a notice to say I missed him and that it was a Letter. Is it possible to get passports before that? Or do passports not come as a letter format and more of a parcel format? (This is my first time. I have a EDL, but it expires in July so I need a passport).

So it's possible to get it alot earlier then expect? Ok, cause like when the site says 10 days and she's all March 15, when I read letter on the miss you tag, I got confused oo;

Unless you paid extra to get your passport application expedited, it's about two weeks wait time if everything checks out okay for you.
