Re: Transformers Prime First Edition Hitting Canadian Retail
So wait. Are we sure wave 1 is finished? As in no more re-stocks? Because that would be terrible for people trying to get arcee (she's short packed in 1.5).
Also do we have any traction on a release date for the voyagers?
I really like the TFP stuff but this launch has been very annoying.

How do you limit the quantities that are shipped out, and lock out a massive retailer like Walmart for example. I shouldn't have to rely on a website for "sightings" of the figures. I shouldn't have to trek across the downtown to blindly check out a far way TRU and come away disappointed. Im not paying inflated prices to scalpers for these figures. And now, Ive missed wave one, and wave two isnt until April 2012. *barf*

I dunno. What's Habro official press releases? They sure are mum regarding info on TFP figures. I remember back when TF Cybertron show aired, you could find the figures anywhere. This show is the best show since BW, and you cant find anything on shelves. And season 2 is about to air.

actually it seems to be a good strategy to try to sell out all the first wave and then come out 2nd wave. But with TF movies and TF generation, and rts fever are not over, it just makes the toy line to shift back a little. However, it actually meets the Christmas =(guarteed for selling) due to a good delay. Limited quantities stimulate the collectors or viewers' wants, in a short time to react rather than messy amount on the retailers and people are waiting for the clearance etc.
Sense of urgency to have one vs Wait for the last cheapest possible.

also, Animated Prime you can find the first wave of the toy while the beginning of the first season. they just messed up or the retailer shelf space do not have that many left for an additional product line. too many transformers, perhaps?

Are we ever sure with Hasbro? Witness the Generations resurgance at Wal-Mart now. I would like to think there will be restocks, as two to four cases per store seems anemic., even for a preview launch.
In any case, even if there are no more restocks, the line will still have it's proper launch at every retailer next year. Same figures without the First Edition packaging. I imagine that come March, everything but Bulkhead will be clogging pegs everywhere.

An exclusive preview launch during the holiday season? It's amazing it went this well and that anyone but scalpers saw the figures, but yeah -- horrible idea.

the first edition molds for bumblebee and cliffjumper will be different than the "actual" release molds.

Re: Transformers Prime First Edition Hitting Canadian Retail
Okay, so if this wasnt the "real" launch, has Habro given a date for the real one then?

Re: Transformers Prime First Edition Hitting Canadian Retail
It has been a real crapshoot and we have no idea whether tons of these First Edition figs will flood the TRU shelves this December or whether what we've seen is all there will be until proper line launch in early spring.
I was incredibly lucky to find 1 each of the deluxe First Editions, but far too many collectors/fans haven't been able to get them.
And I'm extra sad to see some of our own board members reselling these figures at 2-3x retail price!

March for the RiD subline, no real confirmation as to where that sits with anything though. but March is definitely when to expect saturation.
