Re: Canadian Transformers reference?

Hey guys, I've roughed-in some Canadian categories in our database using the information I've compiled here:

http://www.shmax.com/database/1885

So far it's just the high-level categories, ie. "Animated", but I'll add sub-categories ( "deluxe", "voyager") as we go along. Feel free to add whatever records you think of (log in, and use the big "Add it Yourself!" button). Don't worry about linking part records (missiles, fists, figures) to these package records if they're just the same as the US versions--the mods and I can help with that.

Just to be clear once more, our goal here isn't to identify only Canadian "exclusives" or variants, but every Canada-specific release (ie. bilingual packaging) of every toy.

If you have any questions, send me a PM through either site and I'll give you some chat handles.

Thanks!

Let me be clear, what I have is truncated boxes, the back flap usually, or the cardback in similarly rough shape.

Yes, I suppose I could take pictures while I'm grabbing the information you need. I would offer to scan but my scanner is old (low quality).

Edit: Wow, you guys are fast. I signed up and created an entry with the one box that I knew was handy (just to see how easy/hard it was) and someone was already putting it in the right category and everything.

Re: Canadian Transformers reference?

In terms of specifics, we never received Machine Wars here (?), and any KB toys exclusives would not have been available in Canada, as we don't have that store. Pretty much all the target exclusives since 2007 at least have been available at Zellers, but they're exactly the same figure, in some cases even having the target sticker still attached.

We did get the Turbomasters/Predators line, and I can personally verify that

-Rotorstorm
-Hurricane
-Thunderclash
-Stalker
-Skyquake

were available in Canada. Whether these differed in some way from their European counterparts, I don't know.

Are you counting multi-lingual packaging as a variant?

Re: Canadian Transformers reference?

As for roughing in the G1 line, I think you can pretty much include all of the G1 toys up to 1988. Maybe even beyond that.

I don't know how easy it is for you to rough in entries and get people with boxes to add pics/upc/asst. etc. rather than filling in the whole entry ourselves.
