Generations War for Cybertron Soundwave Pictorial Review

I wasn't sure whether I was gonna get him but once I saw him in the store packaged in robot mode, I couldn't resist.
I have more pics of him in vehicle mode here simply because he is packaged in robot mode and most people have already seen what that looks like in package.
so IMHO...

The alt mode:
I have to say I find the vehicle somewhat lacking in "cool factor" or a bit bland (someone who has the game please tell me what kind of vehicle is he supposed to be... obviously cybertronian...). The top and rear parts of the vehicle could definitely use more paint apps to make it more interesting.

Transformation:
It was pretty straight forward...not overly imaginative. The joints are fairly good and parts fit together well.

Robot Mode:
This IS the reason to get this figure. Love the head sculpt. Decent posability. Love the G1-ish look and feel. Cool and a bit menacing. I really dig the robot mode.

I paid full TRU price for Soundwave as he's not out in my local Walmarts yet. I would definitely recommend getting him if you can find him at Walmart rolled back price. But if you are like me who loves the bot mode, or if you love Soundwave period, then I would say he's a good addition even at full retail.

Nice Review Perceptor, thanks
Its a shame he doesn't come with any "tapes" that can fit inside his chest though

I would love to see the wheels painted black though, the wheels, in that grey colour look so knockoff like

Great review. Soundwave definitely looks awesome however it can definitely use some paint. It looks a bit to plastic if you will. Still love this guy though, hoping to grab another one so I can do some mods/painting.

oh okay so you CAN transform the wheels on his rear like in the game. I saw a vid review where the guy didn't know what to do with them and i was really disappointed. But now i see you can put them proper. Me happy now!!

Re: Generations War for Cybertron Soundwave Pictorial Review

He is a great figure. I ended up buying 2, one for my display and one for my desk.

The left fist on both were half off when I opened them, and it took a lot of force to get them on properly. The thighs on both were a tad loose, but Future polish fixed that right up.

The only issue I have regarding the actual design of the figure, are his feet, I wish they folded up a little bit since they seem a tad too long and look a little like clown shoes.

I do love this figure, but it is a shame that he didn't come with any tapes.

Re: Generations War for Cybertron Soundwave Pictorial Review

I got this guy on sale at Zellers and love him! He looks great with Universe 2.0 Ravage (the pack-in with Hound) by his side. Like already stated, it's a real shame that he can't fit and existing cassettes in his chest. It would have been nice if Hasbro at least put a mount on his vehicle mode like Hound so he can carry Ravage around.

This guy will be staying on my Classics shelf since I can't afford a music label Soundwave, and the upcoming Frenzy and Rumble will add to his ranks nicely. Maybe a third party will make a Laserbeak for him in the future?

*EDIT*

I scrounged around for some mini-cons and, with a little imagination, you can have Soundwave with his minions at his disposal.

That he does! Is he small enough to fit in his chest? Thanks for making me wish I hadn't passed on the Titanium line, bud. LOL!
