I've always had a love/hate affair with G1 Jetfire. I've always had to have him in my collection, as he was the Autobots heavy hitter in the air. I'd always make it a mission to have all his armor as well.
But, he was always disappointing to see him on shelf. I never really placed why until I got to near completion on this commissioned Decepticon Jetfire. Then it hit me...he never wore a helmet in the cartoon. I know he was borrowed from Robotech, but they could have given him a proper face, right?
The head was cobbled together from a Energon Ironhide head, some Gundam parts and a neodymium magnet embedded in the original helmet, the Evil G1 head and the platform that the head sits on. The great stickers came from Reprolabels. Unfortunately, this set (the customer sent in his Jetfire) is missing the leg clips for the thrusters, as well as the gun clip.
I was concerned about matching up the purple paint with the violet in the reprolabels. Oddly enough, I now really like the color contarsts between them. Now I
HAVE to do a G1 version, right? :lol Enjoy!
