Amen.

I only have Hasbro's MP-01, so MP-10 is attractive.

I had more than one opportunity to get MP Rodimus on sale, so I will probably attempt to get the new on one sale, too. That said, it's hard to count on anything with Hasbro. There may be oodles of him, or maybe I'll only see it once. Who knows how it will shake out?

My biggest worry is QC. MP Rodimus was ruined by lousy QC -- many of them were broken outright in the package and I suspect they're all ticking time bombs. I think it's only luck and variability that keeps those arms on.

There will be compromises to bring the new one in at a reduced cost. How much compromise remains to be seen.

I was tinkering with my MP04 last night (um...that sounds wrong in so many ways) and thought to myself: "In truck mode he truly is a block on wheels."

Yeah, gotta give MP10 props for that aspect.

I think MP Rodimus was doomed from the start because of over-engineering a.k.a. "too much of a good thing". MP Megatron (MP Rodimus's 'predecessor' in terms of throw-against-the-wall-inducing complexity) is both an amazing and downright ridonkulous toy and (from what I've seen and read) MP Rodimus takes the cake. He's also the most animation-accurate MP toy, even more so than the fantastic MP Grimlock (which should have won toy of the year in 2009 and 2010, IMO). But with great accuracy comes great complexity, thus we have Rodimus.

This makes me realize that MP10 might be worth it for the 'toon accuracy alone. I always thought MP04 was a representation of what Prime would look like in real life, whereas MP10 (from some angles) looks like he jumped right out of my TV one Saturday morning in the 80s.
