There are 3 size MP10 versions.
only Hasbro/Takara MP10 follow the scale.
MPP10 (weijiang) is as big as MP01
MPV10 (KBB version) is voyage size for CHUG display.

Re: Masterpiece Optimus - Choices

Toyworld also just released their own version of MP scale OP

I have the Hasbro MP-10 and my wife has the Takara MP-10. I do prefer the colouring on the Hasbro version myself

Here are all the primes for scale. Mp10, mpp10, m01, mp01, g1. IMO, mpp10 is the best overall but only scales to itself - it's big but looks wicked!

Re: Masterpiece Optimus - Choices

I know this is not part of the topic, but I never understood the numbers next to MP. Couldn't they just call it MP Optimus Prime or MP Megatron?

Back to the topic. Wouldn't MPP10 be bigger than Megatron? IMO, he won't scale good with the rest of the MP Car Bots.

There's also YOTH MP10, if you like the gold chromes. If you get the Takara MP10, you can always paint the eyes blue

Re: Masterpiece Optimus - Choices

but there are more than one MP Optimus and Megatron, and seekers and Hot Rod. the numbering system is a convenient way to keep track. also, sequential numbering is pretty common for all Japanese transformers.

MPP10 is big, but so is Optimus Prime. it's a tough call

Re: Masterpiece Optimus - Choices

The ultimate and king of the Primes is MP-04. I know the price is steep but there is a reason Takara named it "Optimus Prime Perfect Edition". In alt form it is huge, awesome and something to behold. It has all of the die cat of MP-01 with the trailer included and none of the third part trailers are as good. I have an MP-04 displayed with 20th anniversary Prime and they look amazing together. The scale is off with the new masterpiece figures but MP-04 is a true "Masterpiece". If you can afford one you will not be disappointed.

Re: Masterpiece Optimus - Choices

I've decided to go with MP10 Hasbro edition. As sine have said the colouring is more G1 accurate and the eyes really bring out the figure. I'm trying to stay to scale with my other MP figites and this one seems to fit.

Re: Masterpiece Optimus - Choices

Ended up going with Hasbro MP10. Found one MIB on ebay for $250 CDN shipped. Figure is awesome and brings back lots of nostalgia! Most likely will eventually end up getting the Takara version as well but so far I'm trying my best to get the Hasbro versions of the ones I can as so far I'm liking the paint apps versus Takara.

Re: Masterpiece Optimus - Choices

I ended up sticking with the Takara version myself although I understand why people would go for the Hasbro paint-up. Incidentally, that was $99.99 at TRU for a while when it was released.

Just a suggestion, but now that you have the MP10 mold, perhaps you should consider the KBB MPP10 i.e., oversized MP10 KO for your second?

I don't have it, but from what I have read, there are no apparent q/c issues, the paint is nice and it has diecast. Also, the more I compare to the MP carbots, the more it seems to me that MP10 is a little small and that big 18"er might just fit a little better.
