Fido not carrying Blackberry
I am with Fido since 2004 making it 10 years, and I've had a Blackberry since 2009 and I am not about to ditch Blackberry anytime soon. Since I am loyal customer with Fido, they are taking care of my contract fee which will automatically give me an early renewal also they are taking care of the admin fee of 25$ my plan stays the same and my new phone will be 0$. Seeing that I am Blackberry fan the offer is only good for Blackberry's and they told me they don't carry Blackberry anymore and I called the local Fido stores and 1 has a Blackberry which is the Curve it's oldest model of the one I have. They only carry iPhones, Android and Windows phones, I will never ever go with those type of phones. So my option is either pay the 90$ and get out of Fido since they don't carry Blackberry or stick with Fido and hope that they decide one day to carry Blackberry. The reason is my phone is not working properly.
Thoughts / Suggestions?

Why can't you ditch BB? Did they tell you an upgrade is not possible unless you get another BB? Or can you get something else?

Re: Fido not carrying Blackberry
I'd ditch bb in a second for android. Everybody I know that has switched to android from bb is extremely happy.

If you are having money troubles, maybe you should ditch the smart phone altogether.

Normally I would agree whole heartedly. My work provides BB phones to certain employees and they recently gave me a BB Z30. Honestly, I've used both Android and BB and this new OS 10 BB put out is really slick. I normally hate BBs. I used to own the piece of shit Bold and Curve this new breed of smart phones they are putting out is wayyy better than what we are used to seeing from RIM. I'm watching Netflix, pirated movies, playing Mp3s, playing games, surfing the net nice and fast, oh and using it for work purposes lol, pretty much meets all my needs
Android is still king, but BB is not too shabby these days.

Re: Fido not carrying Blackberry
I have the Curve and the Fido store near my house has a BB Curve device that is older model than mine, so basically my BB Curve is much better than the Curve (refurbished) they have in store. But yes I would be upgrading from BB Curve to BB Q5, but both stores near my house don't have them and I am due for an upgrade since my BB device is 4 years old and it shuts down on it's own and sometimes it takes 5-10 mins to load.

Well if FIDO doesn't carry any newer BB products any more than I guess you have no choice but to jump ship. Unless you want to buy a newer unlocked BB phone and switch out the sim cards. But that would be very expensive. Just take the free upgrade and try Android. You can still load BBM on any Android phone. So you won't really miss anything.
