Re: How do you handle the lulls?

I have other hobbies, I read, or watch tv, or work on my master's thesis. I don't to spend money when there's nothing I want to buy.

Re: How do you handle the lulls?

I've got pretty good will power, I only buy ones I really want and I usually get rid of ones I get bored of. I'm not a stickler for having a huge collection. Mostly because I don't have the space and because I don't like to own a lot of stuff. If I really want something and can't find it, I'll go to Ebay for it. But I don't really go hunting in stores that are out of my way, just the ones along my commute. So when there's nothing I want, I usually spend on other hobbies like my panoramic photo blog. Or beer. haha. Right now, there is nothing I want, even from the animated line, so I guess it will be a while until I buy a new TF. After landmine and stockade, that is

Re: How do you handle the lulls?

Filling in and paying more attention to my G1 collection! (which I'm sort of more into than the new releases anyways, though I like them too).

I get more satisfying wallet-drain with G1 purchases too, buying new figs at Cdn retail and then opening them I know they are now worth nothing and a $150 purchase for a leader and 2 voyagers just doesn't satisfy me the way a $150 purchase on something vintage in good condition and rare does.

Re: How do you handle the lulls?

It's a good opportunity to save money until new lines come out (including non TF). There is always eBay, but this lull comes at a perfect time since I need to save money.

Re: How do you handle the lulls?

- Use eBay to pickup older or unavailable TFs I've been wanting to get.

- Kitbash and paint the ones I have.

Re: How do you handle the lulls?

I spent more money on other stuff than I would have on Transformers had there been a bunch available.

I bought a laptop, and a new Camera. No more spending for a while... Good thing the only Transformer I plan on getting anytime soon is the re-issue Sky Lynx.

Re: How do you handle the lulls?

Just completing random holes in my collection, I figure I could save some money now for the upcoming Animated and Classics figures while doing this.

Re: How do you handle the lulls?

While I do collect newer toys that I open and display, I also collect MISB G1s & G1 reissues which I usually keep unopened. But during lulls, I open a few old toys (usually reissues) just so I can feel like a kid again!
