Re: How do you handle the lulls?

Since I got back into actively collecting a couple years ago, I don't think there is such thing as a lull. Just when I think I'm up to date on everything, I start to find excuses to buy something else. I bought all the Alts and said that was it. Then I decided to buy doubles of each of them, plus all of the G1 character counterparts to co-display with. Once I got the BotCon Classics, I thought I was done with that line until it relaunched. Now here I am thinking about re-buying all of them to keep MISB. Why? I dunno... it just sounds like a good idea. Same thing with the Movie figures. Then it was onto the PVC/HOC stuff - for no other reason than to display with my Palisades Devastator. Add to that, now I want an extra G1 Shockwave. Thinking about re-buying G1 Omega Supreme even though I have perfectly good one sitting here. Just bought some cassettes for my reissue Soundwave. Maybe get some of the Movie posters as well. And on and on and on...

I see the term "plastic crack" used a lot in relation to TF collecting, and it's scary exactly how true that is! There always seems to be a new excuse & justification to buy more, *especially* during the retail lulls. Yeesh.

Good plan here man. I too will celebrate the Bad Day myself by liberating a toy from its retail prison.

Not for you or anything... just a good excuse to buy more toys.

I agree. earlier I posted that I've had pretty good restraint, but I just bought doubles of stuff I don't need. Picked up another japanese movie 77 BB from Ebay cause the price and shipping was good. Now I'm considering a black Incinerator.

I have to admit, that while the high is nothing like the thrill of the hunt, I do get pretty excited when I come home and see that parcel slip left behind by the mailman. It's like Christmas, only without the annoying songs.

My will... is crumbling.
