Re: ShelfLife Beta Test Announcement: Very Exciting Stuff

When using the "Manage Items" tab for any given figure there is an "Add Variant" link at the bottom of the box. I selected an item and then selected the link. When I tried to enter the modified info for the variant it would not let me save. I kept getting an error msg that said the character must be in lower case letters. Even changing everything to lower case letters in the "Character" and "Name" fields did not resolve this.

I see other curators have made completely separate entries for variants (ie. Marvel crossovers green hulk and grey hulk). Is this the only way to handle variants? Also, what would be considered a variant vs. new figure? I'm looking at items like Transmetals Rattrap that is basically the same figure/character/bio, but was released with 5 or 6 different paint schemes. I thought these would all just be entered as variants. Yes/no?

Is there going to be a Catalog for the Takara TFC Reissues?

Yup, there're 2 unresolved flags on Universe 2.0, 1 of which is yours.

However, Universe 2.0 wasn't meant to be publicly visible, because it's still being built! I've fixed this, so it'll be available again once the curator's finished building it.

Really? Cuz that one had been up since the early days. A lot of my haves are from that catalog.

There already is, I had asked to do it, but they said someone already did. If it still isn't done I'd still like it.

Yea, I also asked awhile back too. Hope to see it up soon.

You're right! There're several unresolved flags on TF Hasbro Prime. I've sent an email to the curator, asking him to take care of them.

That's odd. There shouldn't be any lower-case restriction on the Name or Character fields. Which product(s) is this happening in? Could you email a screenshot of this to me, please? (nick@shelflifex.com)

You're spot on that each of those Transmetals Rattrap repaints should be variants. Sorry about this hiccup. If you email me a screenshot, we'll sort this out lickety split.
