Are you 100% positive? As I've read that the IMAX footage will be available on both DVD and Blu-Ray.

Call me an optimist, but until I get official word from Paramount or Walmart, I'll take this with a grain of salt.
Absolutely agree. I too am going to make a trip to Walmart. But I am coming up with my backup plan.

I have very low expectations when it comes to Walmart and Paramount.

Pretty sure. Just like the Dark Knight Blu-ray.

I think people mentioning a DVD with IMAX footage may be confused. But from everything I have heard and seen nothing specifically mentions that there is going to be a special DVD getting IMAX footage. All the advertising is saying if that they can get the Standard Def (DVD) as well. But not that it has and IMAX footage.

FYI,

Early reviews of the regular Blu-ray have come in and they are stellar in terms of quality.

Well except for the movie itself. To each his own I guess.

Re: Confused with the different version of the ROTF DVD/Blu-Ray...

As far as I know, the IMAX footage and Transforming Bumblebee Case will have DVD and Blu-Ray versions.

And if Walmart Canada won't get the extra IMAX footage, then I guess I'll get the standard 2-disc version. I'll look for the DVD steelcase in case we get it, but I won't count on it.

Re: Confused with the different version of the ROTF DVD/Blu-Ray...

Correct me if I'm wrong but the Futureshop Blu-ray steelbook will not be available in the US. So if the Wal-mart imax footage is indeed only in the US, I would suggest picking up a steelbook and offering up a trade with someone from the US. I'm sure you will find numerous people who would be more than willing to trade as there are several blu-ray steelbook collectors out there, especially on the blu-ray.com forums.

I still shutter to think how much people were willing to spend on the Ironman steelbooks.
