Re: Toys Toys Toys and Walmart
You've clearly never A] Been into the store or B] Met the boss.
And did you miss the part where I mentioned people would return stuff to us that was defective, and his solution was to buy it from Walmart and have me return the defective one and put the purchased one back out for sale?
If he wants to be in the market selling hard-to-find rarities and out of print stock, I'm a supporter. There's a market for it. Eating up 30 bucks of a kid's allowance on a deluxe Bumblebee because his mom didn't bother to look down the hall at Walmart? Not on my watch.
[I was also told explicitly not to suggest where stuff might elsewhere be found even if it wasn't in the store.]

Then don't do it while collecting a paycheck.

Fair enough. Not that it was ever much of a paycheque either.

I can't see it being great after everything you just said. As long as you moved on to better things.

I was talking gross margin rather than net, but yeah, you're right. Overhead at a mall would likely be a lot more than overhead at a strip mall (at least, I would hope so), primarily due to higher lease rates.
Still, in general, at the same overhead rates, a higher price on a figure results in a higher rate of profit from that figure, disregarding the change in demand that the increase in price may have.

Re: Toys Toys Toys and Walmart
Toys Toys Toys do get stuff from other shops and resell them
They were selling Costco Exclusives for double the price and the only place to get those items were at Costco

Re: Toys Toys Toys and Walmart
You people talk about morality, how many here have bought stuff cheap only to either re-sell or trade for something more expensive? How is that any different? People can do as they want and will regardless.

For 1, there is a reason. More money for them.
For 2, Is that true? If they buy it from TRU aren't they allowed to re-sell it?
As long as people are gonna buy it, they can sell it for ANY high price they want. Best is to just tell everyone how high their prices are compared to Walmart and others.
When everyone goes to their competitors and Triple-T's sales drop, they might be willing to lower prices to make a sale.

I agree, it's a good business plan. As long as they're not doing anything illegal, they are actually providing a service to non-Costcoers, as pointed out by Aernaroth.
