If true, this situation has all the makings of yet another cluster-f*ck. Perhaps imported Takara MPs are the way to go from now on, or just take it up the wazoo from scalpers and their jacked prices for Hasbro MPs.

I'm assuming that we will see soundwave and acid storm around the end of September and mid October. Why I say this is because this what I ran into getting 3 mp-10 and 3 thunder cracker before it snowed out here.

Thanks for the heads up! Based on this news, plus what happened with MP10, I threw down a Takara 2nd run pre-order at $160 as my backup plan. I'd rather buy the Takara one and miss out on the other 4 tapes than pay a scalper $250-$275.

If I get one mid-August, great and cancel the Sept 2nd run preorder. If not, I have plan B.

Anyone know when stores might start issuing rainchecks?

I just did the exact same thing, thanks for giving me the idea! I actually prefer the Takara Soundwave, but as a total package (plus price difference) I would rather get the Hasbro release. But at the end of the day I just want A MP Soundwave, so better safe than sorry.

I picked up the Takara version a while back for $220 all in. The 2nd run is coming in at a much lower price point so to be honest, I recommend just pre-ordering the 2nd run and not worry about the hunt. It isn't worth it (especially after Optimus last year).
