Re: I'm looking towards 2012 and....

It takes time to develop a project though.

I think the issue could be is that Hasbro is spinning too many plates. There is the Movie line, a classics line, Cyberverse, Kre-o and now the rescue bots line where-as 10 years ago we had maybe a main line and a sub-line like Alternators.

I also look at all the 3rd party stuff an wonder when that is going to stop, or if it affecting the possibility of new Hasbro stuff coming out?

I suppose my wallet should be happy, but this lull will do nothing to stop my spending, I'll just buy other things...

This, hasbro has cracked down on leaks from the factory, making the excitement die, those leaks worked I'm their favor imo

Re: I'm looking towards 2012 and....

Funny, I was just thinking the opposite.
Prime is going well, with more figures on the way, and rumours of a 3rd season are promising.
Knowing that Zombie Cliffjumper gets a figure, I'd say any character is possible.
You know they'll continue to squeeze on the movies. TFTM figures were still coming out a year after the movie came out, so DOTM won't be any different.

3rd party has me by the tenderberries this year though. Giant and Hexatron would be major additions, plus whatever zany new things come up.

I'm excited for 2012!

Hasbro must be betting on G.I. JOE: RETALIATION!

Re: I'm looking towards 2012 and....

Hmm....well there a fair number of TF Prime toys in the works, I'm especially pumped about Cyberverse Prime and yeah there's Movie Trilogy for sure.

And I think we can also hope for more Kreo and Generations (including Fall of Cybertron?)...not holding my breath, but you never know.

Agreed with Bricy, a few leaks wouldn't hurt.

I'm so wrapped up in 3rd party now, Has-Tak is way less in my consciousness...only Prime First Editions have been uber-desirable for me.

One thing's for sure--My wallet is empty and this is a good time to fill it....

I thought the factory workers are not allowed to take leaks...

That's the problem, one or two missing toys to reviewers would have our hype a lot higher, as it stands, 3rd party hype is higher imo

Re: I'm looking towards 2012 and....

Well I think Prime will be the focus, Kreo will continue, and we'll probably get a very minor classics line - maybe some remolds/repaints only - Perceptor, G2 Optimus Prime, any of the other molds that haven't been re-released at least once.

But I agree, not too much interesting. Overall I'm predicting quieter than 2011.

Re: I'm looking towards 2012 and....

I'm hearing a lot about this "Movie Trilogy" line...is it a thing, now? Has it been confirmed to be continuing on after the DOTM stuff runs out in March, or is it already happening?

I have a theory that the Prime: First Edition figures were actually all of the Prime toys that were going to be released in Generations, since they weren't going to give it a full line. They weren't able to get the figures into stores over the Summer, & once the Hub took off, they decided to simply redo the figures into their own line. It'll be interesting to see where Prime goes, from here.

If they aren't doing any new molds for Generations this fall, perhaps they'll just roll them & FOC figures together into one line.

As for Toyfair...well, I kindof expect all of the big reveals to happen at Botcon, since it is only 2 months later, this year.

One or two missing toys... going missing one piece at a time?
