Re: Advice needed.
Haha,
Nice. its amazing how much people can change in a short period of time.
I did end up messaging her and she hit me right back. Very cordial and nothing weird. Good to talk to an old friend.

Sorry to bump this thread up but I see no need to make another one either.
So that same chick messaged me with a picture of a letter I gave her 22 years ago. That thing is so old it's the same age as any hot 20 something year old but it does look well kept and shows no signs of aging.
I'm not afraid something will happen or anything it's just I'm NOT sure what to make of it. I shared this message with the wife of course then both my daughter and wife started to make fun of cheesey letter.
I'm curious, do girls always keep things like this?

Re: Advice needed.
My wife keeps everything and remembers everything
Meanwhile I can't even remember anything that happened last week let alone when we were dating.

Re: Advice needed.
Women often hold onto stuff. But this sounds as if you are headed for a) trouble or b)awkwardness. I guess by now whatever happens has already happened.
Trying hard to sort out a reasonable interpretation of your option D) below...hmm.

Re: Advice needed.
Yeah. Pretty awkward.
My wife said she would like to have kept stuff but moved a lot so she lost most of her things.
Also I noticed most of the twenty something's keep photos of their exes on FB. Pretty weird and awkward.

Re: Advice needed.
Wow, I forgot I made this thread.
In the past I had received some old pictures that a girl had of me from various school functions and it was very nice too see as I could not afford a camera or film at that time.
I think it is in most peoples nature to keep some old notes and letters in a box, not sure about sending back though.

In the modern digital age, that's not such a weird thing to do anymore. When people "keep" photos online or up in the cloud, it's more like FB is holding stuff for them and doesn't feel the same as keeping it for themselves; FB and other social media sites act as agents doing the scrapbook keeping of momentos for the user. There's a certain novelty that some people enjoy by having an automated system invite you to recall your memories from "on this day, this many years ago, blah blah blah"; a random bit of nostalgia to surprise the user with. We're all just trophies from somebody's past at one point in time or another. Objectifying much? Absolutely, but nobody said truth is never ugly.
