Re: Calgary Flood.

Crazy couple of days, clearly, but we thankfully made it through. Took in several friends (and friends of friends) that got evacuated, but thankfully they were all able to return to their homes today. Though it's absolutely awful what some of them are going home to.

Unfortunately, our greatest outdoor embarrassment will probably go on as normal... as we keep getting reminded about from our little social media mayor and every news station every hour. This city with its skewed priorities will do whatever it has to to ensure that gong show still happens, likely at the expense of others as per usual.

Re: Calgary Flood.

Having been in and out of the evacuated zone downtown for work (yay 16+ hour days) as some of the sites we manage are essential services and therefore remaining staffed its been an eye opener.

Last report we're getting is we'll begin moving people back in Wednesday. Everyone hope for lots of sunshine to start evaporating these waters.

All things considered, minimal casualties.

Last report I heard re: Stampede is going on, may be relocated (one consideration is Balzac). Cannot confirm or deny.

Glad to hear everyone is doing okay

Re: Calgary Flood.

Heard today that the Zoo will be closed for a while 6months? and about 60 mil in damage. Used to love going there when I lived there.

All the best to everyone there

Re: Calgary Flood.

Yea, the giraffe was up to his neck in water and the hippo temporarily escaped (not into the bow river thankfully) but its not gonna be smooth sailing anytime soon.

Re: Calgary Flood.

flood came and went.
River is still high.

thanks to ALL of you that were concerned about me.
I know. I was scared for me too

(...what? it wasnt all about me??? )

transformers were dry. Especially the third party kind.

Had to stay in a hotel. New roommate joined me one night. Talk about getting to know a person!

My brother (who could not give a flying rats a** about TFs) finally moved back into his Mission apt the other day.

My family out at SIKSIKA Nation, are still dealing with all the post-flood drama and politics (dont get me started on the Red Cross hahaha)

In other news, isnt it time for another Calgary TF BBQ?

Re: Calgary Flood.

Good to hear TD. I'm happy that your stuff was safe, but mostly that nobody was hurt.
