Never ordered from Japan before. Advice?

does anyone know if you get nailed for customs when Dealing with BBTS?

and how much do they usually charge to ship?

You get nailed EVERY time from BBTS. I would avoid them like the plague.

I got hit when I ordered a chogokin form BBTS. I forgot how much but I think the customs taxes I got ranges from $40-50 while the item was around $250.

If you got friends across the border go for it, can save you a lot.

I use to buy from bbts all the time for years. Thousands spent.. got hit every single time by customs. Doesn't help that it says BBTS in huge letters all over the box on their tape etc. Customs is quite a bit. And completely random it seems but just wait for Einstein to chime in and say we are all wrong as per usual. Lol . Sadly and completely true why I say it's random. I once got an order from them that cost me $60 ish and I got hit with $40 in customs... I was pissed. That was my last order from them.

Hey guys - when selecting Payment Currency in Nippon-Yassan, do you choose Local Currency For Canada Available ?

I see there are other options of currency to choose:

JPY, USD, EUR, GBP, CHF.

Of those listed, I believe the JPY has the best exchange rate against CAD. It is (in my experience) better to have your bank calculate the exchange and pay in JPY as opposed to having the retailer calculate the exchange and pay in CAD (when buying from Japan).

Yeah, I'm thinking 29.99 for an item if it's gonna cost me 20 in customs isn't worth it, may try other avenues.
