Re: Ebay charges import fees now? Lame for Transformers collecting

I've dealt with Wheeljack's lab before he was enrolled the Global Shipping Program. I don't want to talk bad about the guy but he always charged an arm and a leg for shipping. The $38 minimum that Shockwave75 is referencing sounds familiar. It was a great way to get you to buy more items to make shipping less cost prohibitive. Having said that, he always seems to have literally any obscure part or accessory that you would ever want...but it'll cost you. The $5 shipping option with payment via US money order sounds generous enough if you don't ming giving up your buyer protection offered through eBay purchases using PayPal.

Yeah, I've heard for years that the guy is kind of a jerk.

Yep.

Did one deal with him years and years ago on Ebay and he was a nightmare to deal with.

On the topic:

I have switched over to pretty much Canada and overseas buyers only now. Between the apparently unwillingness of many US sellers to deal with Canada, and now the import charges (basically another tax) I restrict my searches on Ebay to either Canada only locations, or I seek out specific items and look closely at who/what/where.

Absolutely BS for this Import Charge fee. Why even bother with looking on ebay anymore.

Yeah, it's very frustrating but if you contact the seller, sometimes they will change the shipping option from the Global Shipping Program to first class mail international, priority mail or whatever.
