Thanks for the quick review Pascal. I think I will give Maketoys a shot. Just got it pre-ordered!

I can just add it to this thread when I get around to it...no point making 2 threads on the same set, especially when the point form pros and cons work well too. I'll have to use my RTS Optimus, missed out on getting the United one for a reasonable price so at least your pics will also shed a different light on this set.

Re: Quick review: Maketoys Battle Tanker
Just got my battle tanker and did the head boil thing. It poped on fine and then i turned the head. The fit was so tight it twisted the balljoint right off, wedging the ball tight in the hole. Well, lucky I had picked up a spare g2 prime, so I drilled out the broke balljoint not intending to try that again, but for once my unsteady hands payed off. The slightly messy drill job widened the opening just enough that I can now pop the head on and off like a normal balljointed head no problem. IMHO stick to the original head until the fix comes out. If you really can't wait I'd suggest sanding down the balljoint.

Wow, thanks for the info. I was pretty confident about boiling and attaching the head carefully, but to know that even after doing it right it can cool/tighten to the point of twisting apart the neck... yikes.
Since we're supposed to get replacement heads, I might try surgery on the first head to make it work without risk to the neck, but I'll see.

Got this yesterday, didn't change the heads, but very happy with the set overall, has a city commander feel with more of the parts in use

I'll be honest: I haven't touched this set after the day I got it. Too long to transform. LOL!

G2 Prime Battle Tanker Pictoral and thoughts. Pic Heavy
I just got my Maketoys Battle Tanker set and I am very pleased with what I got, thanks goes out to Automaton for the quick shipment and service.
I have been waiting a long time for this set to come out since those blacked out pics that surfaced a long time ago, lol. I am going to add a few things to my United G2 Prime like the Reprolables Laser Prime upgrade when I get a change and I added 2 clip cannons from my Scout class Breacher for his smoke stacks...every Prime needs shoulder mounted smoke stacks....they fit on the wheel well right above the front tires. I got the package when I was looking after my 4 year old nephew and what a time I had trying to take apart Prime and upgrade him with my nephew all hansy with my prime and battle tanker, lol. You have seen the review vids and thread about the figure so I wont go into it, I will say that I love this figure...He is now a approximately a voyager class Prime (I prefer him to the classics voyager Prime now) and he kind of makes me think this is what Big Convoy (mammoth) would look like if he had a truck not mammoth mode. I am not the best photographer, still foolin around with my new phone. enjoy.
