Re: Cost of third party toys keeps rising

Well, I wouldn't put every 3P company in the same basket. With some, you don't get good bang for your buck, while with others you do.

IMHO, it's on the collector to use better judgement in what they buy instead of just throwing money at everything that's out there.

Right now it's the wild west but eventually the market will adjust to what it can bear, and hopefully costs will come down.

Regardless, there's nothing that says you have to buy everything that looks cool.

Re: Cost of third party toys keeps rising

And this is what Takara and Hasbro are hopeing for ,..they for there part are improving there product a constant evalution and third party overpricing and product duplication (two seperate companies for example making the same charater...for example huffer, swoop, devastator etc.. splitting the sales isn't always a winner for either) production costs followed by poor sales, (higher dollar) delays that dicourage buyers ..etc may just burn them out,.. leave few standing,.. while Hasbro/TT sail along... no need for lawyers...cost of business/greed? will do it for them,... are not these are being produced at the same low cost, revelant mind you to product run ( in asia as opposed to being run here )the same as Main manufactures product?

Re: Cost of third party toys keeps rising

So is the complaint here that you want stuff but don't have enough money?

Welcome to real life.

I'm sure you want diamonds and caviar too, but there price isn't drastically dropping anytime soon.

Re: Cost of third party toys keeps rising

i don't mind paying for certain 3p stuff. the main thing i don't like about 3p is the add ons...like how can they charge some things like a small pistol or new head sculpt for 20-30 bucks is crazy. if you think about it, those add ons probably cost more then some top of the line 3p figures for the amount of time spent on engineering/plastic...its a crazy world

What gets me is that while cost rises, quality falls on a lot of these toys. Even Hegemon (IMO the pinnacle of 3P toys) has serious plastic issues.

Re: Cost of third party toys keeps rising

Its really simple if you like the product enough to justify the price, buy it. If not don't. I find it really tiring to see threads like this because it's not like they are forcing you to buy it.

I for one will pay 80-100$ for something awesome instead of paying 15$ for something I think is garbage (at least lately, Hasbro I'm looking in your direction).
