Re: Beast Wars 15th Anniversary

15 Years already? wow.

15 Years ago my Grandma just died and I was starting my grade 12 year. I was collecting Star Wars at the time and remember seeing the toys, but did not like the look of them. Animals? WTF were they thinking??

It wasn't until Beast Machines that I came about and eventually caught up on and embrace all things Beast Wars. In a sense Beast Wars was the second coming of Transformers.

Re: Beast Wars 15th Anniversary

Yeah, it's a pretty big shock to see this being 15 years old, as the fact that I'm 23 (going on 24) means that I'd have only been 8 or 9 when I started watching show, and even younger then when Reboot 1st came out.

Actually, Reboot played a much bigger part in why I got into Beasties as it was called than Transformers did, since I was originally turned off by the fact that it was different from G1. However, after seeing a couple of episodes & of course the toys, I got back into it pretty quickly, and both it & Reboot have remained as 2 of my all time favorite shows ever since.

I remember often not being home when it aired, so my dad would record it on our VCR, and then I'd watch it later on, same with shit like Xena that was still being done. I probably still have the tape that we'd always use, although without any current means of watching it. The tape anyway, given that I haven't had a VCR in years.

Re: Beast Wars 15th Anniversary

You know what my wish is? To get my hands on the most show accurate BW figures available, kind of like this guy from the TFW2005 boards:

Can anyone ID these figures and which lines they come from, ie Takara, Hasbro?

Airazor is the VHS version. Tigatron is the Takara Telemocha version. The rest all look to be from the 10th Anniversary line. Other Rattrap ofcourse who was never rereleased.

Megatron, Tarantulas, and Waspinator are 10th Anniversary. Blackarachnia is Telemocha. The rest were never reissued, so originals.

The rest are fairly straight forward. Could be Hasbro release. Probably mostly the Takara release. The TM Megatron and Optimus definitely look like the Japanese versions. Dinobot II is the first version, as opposed to the bone white repaint/running change. Which is debatably more show accurate, but I personally prefer the first version. Also, that Golden Disk add-on Megatron has is from Unicron.com.

Only thing that guy's missing is Optimal Optimus, TM2 Megatron, Tripredacus, Ravage X-9, and 10th Anniversary "Build-A-Figure" Transmutate and then he'd have the entire show cast. He probably already has them, just not pictured.

Re: Beast Wars 15th Anniversary

Thanks Ultra Primal.

Now to go hunting for these figures. How hard is it to find these nowadays? For example, that TeleMocha Blackarachnia is just so lovely.

I've never owned it so I couldn't tell you, but it's not even that. It's more to do with how different the toy itself is from the cgi model used in the show. I like his alt mode, though.
