Great cover! My opinion is do prime in gray/dark colours to signify destruction/death, and keep the matrix 'ball', in colour.

Or, maybe have a transition from colour to gray from waist up to his head/hands to represent destruction.

I'm impartial to showing his full body, or just a bust shot.

Don't have any ideas for the background, except maybe it being one big flash of light (maybe shooting from the matrix as it's opened).

Background , Fill the bottom third with a skewed top 1/3 of a planet view of cybertron, and leave the rest as space?

Whatever you do though the comics been great, excellent work! really enjoyed it.
