According to the UK Marvel books, Swoop use to go by Divebomb back on Cybertron.

In the end, the final answer...... it's a cartoon, don't think to much about it.

Actually it took place before G1, because the original prime hadnt been re activated yet. But...they were sent back in time. which means that they dont exist in the time period they are currently in. which means they have to keep optimus from being destroyed in order for him to lead the autobots to victory so that primal and his crew can exist in the future to come back and keep optimus alive to lead his crew to victory so that primal his crew can exist in the future to come back and keep optimus alive.... aaaaah!!!!

BW took place after G1 (I take my name from the great Optimus Prime/Megatron), but they were sent back in time to before G1.

Come too think of it Wheeljack was definitely a name not suited to be a cybertronian name before they got to earth. When you see the first episode of G1, the car equivalent alt mode was a hover vehicle with no wheels. So in the Transformers universe side of view it doesn't makes sense for a cybertronian to have "wheel" in their name when they didn't have wheels. It would made sense in War For Cybertron, but in the G1 universe... Not really at all
