I can't sit here and say "they're not selling." Certainly they are... But when new generations toys hits the shelves, they're GONE. And outside of Tru overstock into wave 2 voyagers (and mindwipe) most Titans return still don't last on the shelves super long. Walmart or Tru.

But if I wanted to buy the first wave of tlk deluxes and voyagers I could do that any day of the week.

So this may make me a bad person, but does anyone know if Wave 1 and 2 deluxes are the same SKU? I got Drift from Walmart today, and I had considered going to get another deluxe from TRU during the sale and using my coupon, then returning it to Walmart. It doesn't sit well with me but I'd like to get some of the wave 2 guys during the sale but I don't know if TRU will have them in stock.

Here's how it works...

TRU has all the same SKU. You can buy and return any figure combination.

Walmart has them by individual figures.


SO... you can buy from Walmart and return at TRU. No problem if it's a different figure.

You can buy from TRU and return to Walmart if it's the same figure. You get a direct refund that way OR instead they'll give you a gift card for Walmart rather than a refund.

So, in theory, you can buy what you want now from Walmart at an inflated price, then wait for it to come out at TRU and buy it either on sale or with a raincheck and then return the other to Walmart within the 90 day period.

That's a lot of work, though.

Maybe, maybe not. I have no sales data, but I have noticed that TRU always has sales linked to movies releases. They do it with TMNT, Marvel, Cars, etc. About the time a blockbuster arrives in theaters, TRU has a sale on the related toy line. Also, I'm pretty sure that sales are planned out far in advance and are not tied to a few weeks worth of sales data.
