Strong Canadian Dollar!

Hey everyone!

Our good old "loonie" is doing well against the American "green back" again! My girlfriend bought $ 300.00 USD$ for an exchange rate of 1.13. Economists expect our Canadian dollar to continue to rise against the US dollar.

This weekend, my GF & I are planning a short weekend trip to the States! Guess what? I'm going to check the TF's in Toys R Us, Target, and WalMart!!! Wish me luck! I'm hoping to get the Target exclusive Classcis Ultra Magnus and Skywarp!

Anyone else planning a TF trip to the States?

RedOktobre

P.S. I hope that my GF doesn't complain too much about going to the toy stores...

Re: Strong Canadian Dollar!

I know I plan on buying some USD soon for the trip down to Botcon. I'm hoping to catch it above $0.90 before I make my move, that and I need to earn some dough first as the Saturday is probably going to finish me of lol

Good luck Red (on the hunt and the girl)

When I went down to Disney I just raided the toys R us...must have looked like a complete tool with all these figures in my cart....

My total haul included:
BW 10th OP and Meg,
Yellow scrapmetal,
Cybertron quickmix,
Sigma 6 Duke w/ wings
Sigma 6 Kamakura,
Sigma 6 tunnel rat,
Sigma 6 ninja bat,
Sigma 6 duke with wet suit.

It was a blast, but getting it back to the hotel was a pain (we took the bus :lol)

Re: Strong Canadian Dollar!

The strong dollar makes it great for running across the border to do some shopping (I love Target), but for businesses that export it stinks.

I hope that a strong dollar can help me convince my mom to loan ~$400, via her Visa card, for the BOTCON figures.

Re: Strong Canadian Dollar!

If you are going to the US just for that item"Classcis Ultra Magnus and Skywarp". U may as well get it at "Ages 3 and Up" at Metrotown Center. It is around 52 dollars, kind of over price, but less effort you need to get it.

Re: Strong Canadian Dollar!

Team Jetfire,

Thanx. I often get embarrassed when the Toys R Us cashier asks if I want a "gift receipt". I reply, "no."

kidkid, thanx. I didn't know that "Ages 3 & up" sells TFs.

Soundwave, I'd like to go to Botcon, but my gf would never go with me. She thinks that everyone that goes are a bunch of weird nerds.

Testdrive, yeah. I like Target too, but my experience is that Target mainly only carries Classics and Titaniums.

Lars573, Good luck buddy!

Unfortunately, my gf may cancel the trip to the US. I have to wait till morning to find out!

It's still rising, at 90.08 cents on the American Dollar.

Re: Strong Canadian Dollar!

Xalticus,

Yes, it's still going up! Yes!

I went to Toys R US with my GF in Belluvue, Washington. Unfortunately, they didn't have much of a selection. However, they did have a lot of Scouts including Brakedown, Armorhide, Undermine, etc.

I wanted to go to Target, but we didn't have enough time. We did go to Walmart. I found Classic Constructicons for $ 29.99. I didn't buy it since Devastator wasn't one of my favourite TFs.
