I'm at issue #43 of MTMTE, and #42 of RID, do I need a lot left to get up to date with the current issues? Also am I looking at a lot if $$$ if I get the single issues from DOOP to now?

Looking at the most Recent issues it appears IDW knows your pain and has begun publishing a chronology in the back pages of their books.

I just finished reading MTMTE and RID issue 55 and Titans Return, I am about to read RID and MTMTE 56. What comes after issues 56? any issues except for issue 57?

It ends at 57, there's a oneshot tie in to Revolution after that and then the series gets relaunched as Transformers: Lost Light in December

Yeah. the books are basically the same, just renamed.
Transformers by John Barber becomes Transformers: Optimus Prime, continuing to follow Prime in the wake of All Hail Optimus and Revolution. New art team.
Lost Light is confirmed by James Roberts as season 3 of MTMTE and continues on from the end of Dying of the Light. Milne continues as the main artist, sharing duties with a new guy between arcs.
Til All Are One does not get relaunched, as it's brand new. If you're not reading it, I recommend it. Awesome book so far and the first arc was extremely fun with a great spotlight on the Combaticons.
57 is the final issue for both xRID and MTMTE. Then there will be revolution one-shots inbetween. Transformers: Revolution focuses on Thundercracker, and More Than Meets The Eye: Revolution focuses on the Scavengers (yussssss).
