Omega Supreme: Genesis X vs BBTS Exclusive

Have wanted an Omega since we were all kids. Could never afford one and since then I have yet to see one that I am enamered with.

I was considering getting the Genesis X one later on since it seemed to be the best buy-off-the shelf one out there but there are some things I find troubling:

- it's their first major figure (QC issues...)
- it's really expensive (300~)
- it's a tad too big for my display case

Still, the teasers had me piqued. I just saw some newer pictures of it and I don't know about you but I was a bit let down of how plasticky it looks. I know it's not totally finished yet but what so you think?






I'm late to the party, but I just saw the BBTS exclusive Omega. I'm floored that it's only 99.99.

I'm so close to pulling the trigger but wasn't sure if it looks better to me because it's cheaper or does it actually look better?

Also, are there other off-the-shelf Omegas out there that are nice?

Keep in mind that combined mode Omega you show include the Optimus Prime as well, at a total price of $175.

Also, that looks like a studio edited professional photo Hasbro image to me, their figures rarely look as good in person as they do in pics, in my experience.

Wait, you mean the pic I posted of the BBTS one will only look like that with parts from that Optimus stuck on? Now that you mention it, I see what you mean. I think it looks pretty good without the added-on parts so long as he has the gold cannons.

I'm getting the BBTS exclusive. It's cheaper and I like the proportions and alt mode better.

It's rather unusual for a Hasbro piece to be painted so well, I'm wary of the sentiments that Bruticus82 had... I would be surprised and very impressed if the final product looks like these pictures. I love the matte finish...

The other thing is that, since it's a shared exclusive - might someone sell it cheaper? (not that I'm complaining at sub 100)

i'm going with the BBTS exclusive because I always liked the original figure and wished for a g1 redeco to happen. and its cheaper.

I like them both and will probably purchase the pair genx's is a massive piece,..The re-work of energon omega should also be able to incorporate the intigration of the optimus cab into the main body. I believe robot kindom has it as well at a cheaper price.

Robot Kingdom lists it as $109 (instead of $99). But I haven't bothered to look into shipping, so that might not be a relevant difference.

The Hasbro version suffers severely from "pinhead" syndrome. So It's not perfect, by any means, but I'm too cheap to buy a single figure for $300, regardless of whether it is, in fact, awesome.

Genesis X one looks really bad, the color combination and body portion, I don't understand why anyone want this. Even for 50 it's too much.

/\/\ i agree the genesis one looks awful IMO. i know some like it i just dont really. especially for that price.
