You can thank the writing styles of Kurtzman and Orci for that.

The novels are more detailed, but it's because they are trying to condense it into a time limit. Everything has plotholes, even comedies. It isn't just a Bayverse thing, people just seem to pick at it, heck even G1 had a buttload of faults in it, even the comics currently have wtf moments in it.

No, well written movies won't have glaring plot holes or wtf moments. Well written movies don't require you to make giant leaps of faith and or write your own fanfic to explain plot holes, inconsistencies or wtf moments.

I don't think those involved in making the movies care about any of these sorts of questions/backgrounds/connections/backstories so there is no real answer to these sorts of interesting questions.

Nor do well written movies require an enemy scrotum just so your 5 year old can ask why he has the girl devastator toy (and yes he did ask after he saw the movie) Thanks Michael Bay

Yes, cause we all know "The Dark Knight" had NO problems at all (sigh) Sometimes enjoying a movie for the sake of it can be fun too.

Comparing the problems in the Dark Knight to the Problems of the Bayverse is like comparing Michelangelo to Rob Liefield.

Comparing Apocolypse Now To Bayverse is like comparing the Moon to a block of cheese and so on and so forth.

Bayverse are not well written movies, I don't think anyone can make a cohesive argument that they are, unless that argument amounts to "Haters Gonna Hate"

Re: Bayverse questions concerning Lockdown

Every movie has plot hole. But there's no defending of the level of inconsistency in the first 3 movie. Everyone can see it, whether you are a hard core TF fan or movie fan or not. Even the movie prequel and sequel comic changed the back story on Cybertron so many times. DOTM especially retconned everything established in movie 1 and ROTF. As bad as ROTF was, at least it was somewhat consistent with the back story of movie 1 (that the originally good Megatron the "High Lord Protector of Cybertron" was corrupted by The Fallen, formed the Decepticons and started purging the Autobots. etc) but then DOTM change the whole story again. Megatron was the boss, Megatron worked for the Fallen, Megatron worked with Sentinel. Megatron wanted the Allspark for himself, Megatron helped the Fallen to restart the star harvester, Megatron wasn't sure why and what he was doing for Sentinel. The Allspark can regenerate Frenzy's body and resurrect Megatron but it can't fix Bumblebee's voice. NASA knew about alien space ship on the far side of the moon but they knew nothing about the Allspark Cube and NBE1? The rabbit hole goes bigger and deeper.

Re: Bayverse questions concerning Lockdown

Nasa & Sector 7 didn't work together, no reason they wouldn't have secrets from each other. Nasa might not have even known that Sector 7 existed - Jon Voight didn't

Plot holes are more to do with stuff like Barricade vanishing in the first film despite being shown on the way to the big battle. Some elements of the Allspark as well.

Some of the other stuff mentioned is more along the lines of subpar writing more than plot holes.

For instance the Dinobots in the new film, not a plot hole so much as a lacking presentation - Metal frozen dinosaurs at the start of the film that look like the Dinobots and never gets revisited is a slight plot hole.

All movies have these little hick ups(I could point out tons in the Star Wars Original Trilogy), but Bay's films do seem to have more than their fair share.

In the end though, it simply doesn't matter to me
